Zebra Shades in detail

Two layers of fabric, one shade, complete control of the light.

A zebra shade is a single piece of fabric woven in alternating sheer and solid bands, rolled on one tube. Move it a few inches and the bands align to open a clear view; move it again and the solids overlap to close the room down. The fabric you choose decides how dark that closed position really gets: room darkening or light filtering.

Opaque bands

Room Darkening Zebra

The solid stripes are woven with an opaque, room-darkening backing. When the bands line up, the shade blocks most of the daylight and gives you real privacy day and night — the closest a zebra shade gets to a blackout. Perfect for bedrooms, media rooms and guest suites where you still want the open, striped look during the day.

Sheer + solid bands

Light Filtering Zebra

The solid bands are translucent instead of opaque, so even fully closed the shade keeps a soft, glowing light in the room while cutting glare and blurring the outside. Aligning the sheer stripes opens a clean, horizontal view; sliding them behind the solids softens the room in seconds.
