Drapes in detail
Two ways to hang a drape — and the fabric decides everything else.
Every drape we make is cut, sewn and installed for one specific window: measured to the ceiling, weighted at the hem and hung so the folds break cleanly on the floor. The first decision is the style — ripple fold or pinch pleat. The second is the fabric: sheer, semi-sheer or blackout.
Style 01
Ripple Fold
Panels ride on a track with carriers spaced at a fixed ratio, so the fabric falls in one continuous, even S-wave from ceiling to floor. No pleats, no hardware on show — the drape reads as a soft architectural wall of fabric. This is the style we use most in modern Florida condos and new construction.

- Fullness ratio 60%, 80% or 100% — more ratio, deeper wave
- Single panel, center split, or stacked left/right
- Cleanest style to motorize: the same track carries the motor
- Sheer and blackout can run on a dual track, one in front of the other
Style 02
Pinch Pleat
The classic tailored heading: the fabric is gathered by hand into pinches — two, three or four folds — sewn at the top and hung from rings on a decorative rod or from a track. It carries more presence and formality than ripple fold, and it flatters heavier fabrics, silks and textured linens.

- Ideal with dim out and blackout fabrics for a rich, layered bedroom
- Can also be motorized on a concealed track
Sheer or blackout — or both
A ripple fold drape can be made in a sheer fabric for a light, transparent veil, or in a blackout fabric for a solid, room-darkening panel. In bedrooms and oceanfront living rooms we normally install both on a dual track: the sheer in front of the glass for the day, the blackout behind or in front of it for the night, each moving independently and both motorized if you want.
Sheer Fabrics
Light, air and a view that never closes.
Sheers filter the sun into a soft glow, hide the hard edges of the glass and keep the room feeling open. They give daytime privacy from a distance but not at night, which is why we usually pair them with a blackout layer on a second track.

Semi-Sheer & Dim Out Fabrics
More body, more privacy, still not a blackout.
Semi-sheer and dim out fabrics have a denser weave: velvets, silky sateens and textured weaves that dim the room considerably and give real privacy day and night, while still letting a trace of light through. The middle ground when a full blackout feels too heavy.

Blackout Fabrics
Total darkness, with the hand of a decorative fabric.
These are three-pass or coated blackouts that stop 100% of the light through the cloth and block UV completely. Bedrooms, media rooms and any window facing the morning sun. Run them to the floor and past the jamb on both sides to close the light gaps.

Drapery Motorization
A track that opens the whole wall with one touch.
Motorized drapery uses a belt-driven track: the motor sits at one end, hidden inside the pocket or behind the fascia, and pulls the leading carrier along the rail. It moves quietly, stops exactly where you want it and handles very wide spans that would be heavy to pull by hand.
